Ubisoft can easily go down the same road in the next few years, and any other company that decides to make their own platform can go bankrupt. I love Digital Distribution and select distribution platforms, but buying on every other company's distribution platform completely negates why I like it. My digital purchases are largely safe. Not 100% safe, but a hell of a lot safer than a stack of DVD's. Putting those eggs in the basket of a company that could very easily screw up in the near future and break every one of them gets rid of the core reason of why I like digital distribution. The big guys are copycatting Valve, and if they're successful with it, the little guys are going to start too, and that's where all the poo is going to be hitting all of the fans. I'd rather just stop that nonsense before it happens.

You think once a company goes under the games you have on their client goes under? At first I thought they would just take the multiplayer servers offline and no more CS support...but i guess it makes sense that they'll take all servers down so that you can't redownload it any more.
This isn't my primary concern but Ubisoft COULD very well go under in a few years...only EA/Valve/Activision seems to be safe from that.
