Should be okay in your actual board (except for OC for sure and few minor Intel tech) just check if the mobo has a BIOS Update for Ivy and update it.

Fair enough, I thought the D3H only came in the Z77 model and not the Z77X. In any case, they are priced the same at the egg so might as well go for the UD3H.

EDIT: Actually the D3H is cheaper since it comes with a rebate! Though only by $7 dollars since the UD3H comes with free shipping. For that price difference might as well go for the UD3H.

We'll need more than that to figure out which board it is.

give me software and links for the right bios. i can do the rest

or i can take a ic of the actual box with the model number and all
post #16 of 29
well if it doesnt accept iy bridge (i dont believe it does, ive only read z68, z77, h77 are compatible) you can go for a core i5 2500k (you might not even need the 'k').

as for a new mobo, i dont think you need one. as long as your current one can connect your hard ware together, you are essentially fine.

following the size of your current mobo:
@ Newegg

GIGABYTE GA-Z77MX-D3H $149
GIGABYTE G1.Sniper M3 $153
MSI Z77MA-G45 $136
ASRock Z77 Pro4-M $129
ASRock Z77 Extreme4-M $154
ASUS P8Z77-M PRO $167
ASUS P8Z77-M $130

Intel Core i5-3570K $226.
Intel Core i3-3225 $144
Intel Core i5-2500K $224

Personally I would go for the G1.Sniper M3, but thats just me.

Hi, your motherboard supports the 3570k since BIOS 3605.

However, I advise you to still update the BIOS to the latest 4401 because it includes stability improvements and stuff.
You can find it here:
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8H61M_LEUSB3/#download
Just select an OS in the list and click on BIOS subsection. thumb.gif

it keeps telling me image integrity check failed.

it did this on the windows version of the bios update and on the update utility on the bios itself

EDIT: the bios adriu gave me to download is not the correct one it seems. is there anyway to download the correct one from maybe another site?

it shows this:

current bios

model name

p8h61-m LE/csm

selected bios
model name
p8h61-m LE/usb3

(the bios you gave me to download)

You gave a wrong link in your OP...

Here's the link for the CSM variant:
