this link is for you version 6 owners. Just tried it last night, and it is as everyone says, phenomenal. Due to solid construction where I live, signa strength is always on extremely poor. Two rooms, each with wireless computers, are only 15 feet away max, and I got crappy range and reception. After boosting the xmit option to 84Mw, I can go to the save-mart across a very busy street approximately 1200 feet through trees and small buildings, and I get maximum reception and signal. These are truly great firmware setups, and I encourage anyone to use them. As far as hardware mods to do to the thing, you can also up the cpu speed. I don't suggest going over 252Mhz. Does anyone know of any good mods for the wrt54g versions? I have checked hackaday, but the hacks seem odd to me...

yes DD-WRT is about the greatest for the Linksys routers. I don't set my xmit power to anything above 50 though, I might be nervous for having fried a router by setting it to 251 though. If you have a GS make sure to enable afterburner. I believe its disabled by default.

afterburner is what lets it use the speedbooster feature, allowing it to go more then 54Mbps.
