I just got my folding rig up and running and would love to participate.
You just have to refer someone to the foldathon and then have them signup and list you as the referrer. Here, watch I'll give you an example "Hey Kitler you should go signup for the foldathon, it's a great competition in which we all try and get the most folding points you can in two days, with prizes to be won. It's a good time for all, you can go here to sign up
and I would appreciate if would list me as your referrer. Let me know if you need any help or have any questions.
See? I've now referred you to the foldathon.
I think you may have mistakenly believed that you need a referral to participate in the foldathon which is incorrect. Anyone can participate you just have to sign up, the referrals are another little contest inside of the larger foldathon competition to see who can recruit, refer, or whatever you want to call it, the most new members to the foldathon in a given month. As I said above in my spiel, let me know if you have any further questions or need any help with anything.
That looks like a very good start to me. I think I thought of a way to see just the referrals that would count in the upcoming foldathon, make another sortable field that will separate those who have points in the FaT already and are therefore don't count towards that months referrals, and those who have signed up with a referrer but still have no points. So we could separate referrals in the past that won't effect this upcoming FaT's referral count (like for example my previous 7 referrals) from those who are still new referrals (like kitler would be in this case).
Actually I think I may be an idiot, is the "points" field that is already there a foldathon only points or is that all of there folding points? If it's just foldathon points then that's what I'm looking for because if you sort that by by lowest to highest the 0s will be right there so you can see who is a new referral. Only problem with that is once the FaT starts and they start getting points you could no longer tell the difference between new and old referrals. So I think that's the only thing it needs, is a way to be able to see just the new referrals somehow.
Another thing I think could be improved is I think the << < # > >> buttons could be a lot bigger, clearer, and intuitive. They are small, close together and don't immediately shout their function to the user (at least not this user
) They are still usable obviously but I just think they could be better. My suggestion would be for them to be a larger image of an arrow (or maybe even an image that say next first previous last etc.) that is the link instead of just a text link. It also may help to spread them out like this.
and have that centered at the bottom instead of right aligned. I'm just using the << < # > >> as placed holders here as like I said I think they should be larger more self explanatory images instead of text.Edited by juano - 2/8/13 at 11:04am
