XSPC 5.25 Dual Bay Reservoir LEAKING at pump [w/ Pics] - Page 3

I know XSPC makes quality parts but this is getting kind of frustrating. I've heard we're not supposed to mess with tightening the top bolts but I see no other way to fix this leak than doing so.

It looks like you torqued it so much that you caused the rear panel to separate from the top panel. You can see the top panel bowing upwards and the gap between the two panels.

Possibly, although there is a natural bend in the top piece at that spot due to screw placement. Maybe tightening the pump so much moved the lid a bit.

If I could make a possible last ditch effort suggestion (like all hope lost try to rma it or fix it), it might be possible that a quick cure liquid gasket (maybe automotive?) Might be able to seal that pump. Like I said it's just a theory. So it could be a final resort if you have no other options.

Thank you for this, I was however able to work out a replacement with Sidewinder and am being sent a new unit biggrin.gif
Great customer support if anyone hasn't experienced them.

If the new unit gives me any trouble I'm going straight to some quick curing adhesive, the rest of my rig is completely set up I just want to use it!

Thank you all for the suggestions, much <3 OCN

I have the same problem with my xspc d5 dual bay reservoir - leaking at the top just like your pic, like you, also thought it was leaking from the pump.

Hopefully Performance PCS takes care of me ....

Performance PCs has a replacement on the way to me (shipped <24hours after contacting them!). Hope this one works out better!

From what I've seen, all of those XSPC D5 Dual Bay reservoirs have that gap in the top. Its been reported by reviews and many members on another thread :\

If yours didn't leak at first but developed the leak eventually, I fear for my loop :\

Mine just started leaking today frown.gif. It let a bunch of air in and then started leaking.
One a side note, does anyone have to keep this pump/res 100% filled or it stats sucking in air?
I think mine was sucking some air until at least 70% full, somewhere around there.

I wonder if the leaking is more prone to happening on high restriction loops. Cause that piece right there is from the outlet of the pump, so if the loop has high restriction there would be back pressure at that point as the pump tries to push the water.
By the way, tightening or re-seating the o-ring doesnt help?
