Nope. That's what you get from better yields. Improved perf/watt
It's all just rumours right now, isn't it? And really the only time DDR4 will ever be first out is about 2014, where Intel will launch it with their Haswell-E of course and knowing AMD much later
I was agreeing with you that Richland is a better quality trinity, duuno why you "noped" my explanation that a Trinity at Richland clocks would need a higher TDP (and higher power draw) than Richland at Richland clocks.
However, I think you are wrong about the DDR4. (unsuuported rumor ATM) Apparently samsung was not happy with how their sales of the green ram went (I am assuming server side) and is working on getting DDR4 out now. Micron has working chips as well.
Kaveri has already been confirmed to be able to use GDDR5, which apparently is the same type of memory controller that is used for DDR4, so Kaveri sould support DDR4 before its even out. Why do you think intel has to be the first for DDR4, it benefits AMD way more ATM to use DDR4 ASAP with both the CPU side lacking bandwidth compared to intel, and the APU gpu needs as much as it can off of standard ram.
