Thank you everyone for your replies, I apologize for my inexperience but I am learning.... and I think I've found a concurrence although I'm not entirely sure what it means just yet. It seems that the System reading on Easy Tune and the Temp1 reading on SpeedFan match exactly through my (relatively tame) testing... as Easy Tune is made by my motherboard manufacturer I want to say that it has the correct CPU reading and the System reading and Temp1 are probably reading the chipset(?). The curveball in all this is that the BIOS reads my CPU temps as only a couple of degrees below the System/Temp1 readings... my motherboard is the Gigabyte GA-F2A85XN-WIFI, all drivers and the BIOS are up to date. My H60's plugged in to the CPU header as per the instructions and the SP120 fan is plugged in to the System header, the board only has two fan headers... the case fans run off a fan controller and the PSU. I want to believe that the watercooled CPU is going to run a bit cooler than just about ANY air-cooled solution and since most of what I've read says the processor idles at 27-35C 28C doesn't seem like too much of a stretch... anyways, here's a couple of screenshots of my monitoring apps, I'll post some more when I send it through Prime95. Thanks again for the advice!

KVR1333 - rather transient Hynix CFR batch, also does DDR3-2133 CL9 at 1.65V but I prefer running it mostly at its stock 1.5V thus DDR3-1866C9 instead.

Further testing done, I am liking my 6800K/Extreme6+ combo more and more... rainy weather with ambient temps of ~27C.

Same Vcore at 1.40V BIOS LLC 0%

Killed off a few startup TSRs like CCC and finally broke through the stubborn 4.0 ceiling for Cinebench 11.5 score, not bad for an AMD APU on ambient cooling... yay! biggrin.gif

Has anyone had success with a higher overclock by disabling the iGPU? Does it make a difference? What about disabling 2 cores and the iGPU to see the max threshold?

Looking at the breakdown of the top 7 OC's for the A10-5800K that I found a few months back, 5 of them have 'GPU Type :Standard VGA Graphics Adapter', which I presume means the IGPU has been disabled.

Most of them have also dropped the RAM speeds right down and tightened them up as far as possible, although the amount of RAM doesn't seem to have been a factor.

On BIOS upgrades for ASUS FM2 boards post Richland, under Advanced>CPU Configuration> there is now a Core Leveling Mode [Automatic/OneCorePerProcessor/OneComputeUnit/OneCorePerCU]. So you are probably onto something there.

Save yourself any headaches, get one of these while they are in stock. The Extreme6 for the A85X chipset holds the world record for the FM2 platform. This is the exact same board just updated with some better features and support for the FM2+ platform. So if you ever decide to drop in a Kaveri chip later (which could totally be worth it) you'll have a board capable of that option. I own the FM2A85X Extreme6 and can say its a solid board. That's all if you can fit a ATX board in your case.

2 PCI-e lanes. Single at x16 dual at x8/x8 but being 3.0 the x8 may not hurt much.
