AMD Richland A10-6800K APU thread - Page 129

Very well, then iam fine with its stock speed we use it mainly for netflix and a few games every now and then. I kinda feel bad putting in that 6970 its not being used to its full potential but better to have it and not need it then the other way around right? I will get some pics up for you guys of my 6800k.I really enjoyed building it and iam really found of the fractal node 304, very high quality if you ask me!

You can put a 6970 in it and use it to full potential actually. A 6970 is NOT that fast.

Not saying its that fast but its for sure Faster then the 8670 Dave! Or is it not according to you? lol

The VLIW4 based HD6970 is very comparable to the performance of a GCN based R9 270. I'd call that pretty good. All about perspective I guess.

Definitely is faster if you need more power I definitely won't say no to someone using a 6970 instead.

Oh cool thanks I wasnt aware of that. You dont measure a cards performance by the number of prosessing shaders available? Or similar to Nvidias cuda cores, isnt it always better to have more? I dont know I read somewhere thats what determines a cards performance the number of shaders available.

No, not at all. Also 7970 > 680 as is 7850 > 650 Ti Boost
What you read is BS.

You CAN compare GPUs of the same architecture by observing core configuration and clocks. Comparing different architectures this way doesn't work, as the "shaders" change in every architecture.

The 6970 =/= 7850. Performance may be similar/comparable, but they are certainly not the same card or anything.
