Update/Firmware won't install Linksys router?

New update/firmware is out for my router e4200v2 and other series, I downloaded the new version yada yada entered in my router password when prompted it downloads around the 70% mark I lose connection to internet for a few percentages around the 75 it comes back on (probably just due to updating) but at the end it says it failed to update??

its so stupid I don't see why it has to be so weird/hard.. I tried multiple times and it just fails at the end. I'm just redownloading the old software I had before hope that works





edit:

Opened up the "old software" it said new update available link to download.
Went to website downloaded new software
Software would not complete download but appeared to be set up.
Went and redownloaded the old software and now it prompted me through the old software and now is working fine...

Lmao, Linksys I worry.

Its always best to DL the firmware to your PC first, then upload it from your PC directly in to the router. Its not Linksys fault.

Try downloading the firmware, and going to the Router configuration page using the Default Gateway on ipconfig.

Then go into administration and firmware upgrade. It is also recommended to backup your settings before you do it.

Its highly recommend it, that you DO NOT back up your settings when upgrading to new frirmware. Dont ever use back up settings file after upgrading to new firmware.

Either wright it down or take screen shots.
