Future proof? LGA 1155 is going to be dead in a matter of months, how is a Sandy Bridge i3 future proof?

I would get a 965 and a nice AM3+ board, that way if Steamroller (Kaveri) successfully launches later this year you can upgrade to one of those.

A few good boards include the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX and Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 (latest revision)

your telling me a 4 Ghz deneb will be better for gaming than a 5Ghz PD because of FPU's?

I think all of you are ignoring the NB overclocking, something that increases massively the phenom II performance.

But you are ignoring the fact that most of us that is recommending the PD FX line had a Phenom II @ 4.0ghz+ with NB speeds of 2800-3000.

EDIT
@Schmuckley
If you look at gaming benches. PD FX-4300/6300 beats a Phenom II x4/x6 in 95% of the gaming benches. This rig for OP is for a gaming rig not a Extreme rig.

Please show me those benchs.

I'm thinking of going for a 8350 , but only for gaming, playing at 1080p i don't know if is worth it.
And please don't put again the Anandtech page.

in another Thread i put some benchmarks of my rig.

And I can prove it using mine, with the games i have thumb.gif, i'm not saying its better or worst, only that can compete perfectly.

Just choose the game you wanna know how it works

But for example
7.42 CINEBENCH/ 1,26 single thread
52,3 fps Heaven 3.0 maxed out 1080p
27,7 Fps Shogun II CPU test Dx9
79 fps Shogun II 1080p High DX 11
72 fps Metro 2033 bench maxed out 1080p tesselation and avanced physics ON dof OFF / 43,7 with DOF enabled
9707 Catzilla

just cause 2benchs, maxed out 1080p 8xAA

Dark tower 65,8 fps/ desert sunrise 75,38/concret jungle 35,23

and can continue posting more and more

i repeat ,only for gaming, to 1080p and Vsync, is really worth it change to 8350?

Right now the only game i have a serious bottleneck, and a really big one is SKyrim, and is a GPU bottleneck because the amounts of mods.

Thanks

Hmm..i was getting 48-72 fps in Skyrim.Try umm..open CCC and turn down everything but Anistropic.Maybe go light or none on the AA,too.PD won't fix that..It does it with all the CPUs.Oh..and the CFF explorer thing..

That is funny. If you look at the 6300 it is clock at 1.4ghz. it is more tham likely at stock speeds.
EDIT
I'm going to disable 2 core and run that bench test.

over 150 active mods, there are places where I come dangerously close to the 30 fps, especially places with a insane amount of grass, but looks so great!! if I reduce the resolution to 720p go up on 20/25 fps
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

The other game i've been playing a lot is Borderlands 2, and after seeing this

bulldozer, I know it, but can not be much difference with PD

i have to take one decission, sell my x6 or keep it, and only have a few days to give a answer
