6300 for sure! It's only a few dollars more generally and has more cores (which does help). It's defiantly worth it! biggrin.gif

Thread Starter
So this is my build so far:

CPU: FX-4300
GPU: Radeon 7850 2GB
MB: Asrock 970 Extreme 3
RAM: Corsair Low Profile 8GB (2x4GB) 1600Mhz
PSU: Rosewill Green 630w
Case: NZXT Source 210

Looks good? I don't need a HDD or optical. Stretches my budget by $15 is it worth it?

Looks good to me, but what cpu cooler will you be using?

EDIT
Forgot something.
FYI. That AsRock may not be strong enough for a good oc when 8+ core Steamroller comes out, but should handle any Steamroller 4-6 cores cpu.

EDIT: sorry, meant to ask, which RAM in particular are you looking at?

Any reason you don't want an FX-6300? It has more than just extra cores. The extra L3 cache on that CPU will put it over an FX-4300 even in single threaded applications, for only $10-20. (with an additional module, or 2 cores.) It's a VERY good investment for that money.
