I find this to be a completely absurd notion.

I'm not going to tell anyone else how they should act, but I find those individuals who put societal perceptions, or traditional roles (for gender, sex, age, whatever), above their own personal inclinations and desires to be, in general, weak-minded fools who have enslaved themselves to so much nonsense.

A 40 year old male living with his parents gaming 24/7 is somehow productive to society?

"Traditional roles" are sometimes needed.

Take out the variables introduced and it doesn't sound as bad.

Age in and of itself should never be a determinant of when one should stop doing something they enjoy.

I agree that age is not a factor.. I'm just arguing against his flawed logic that is against "traditional roles" aka the gray area that dictates what is socially acceptable.

last thing I'm going to do is let a bunch of old ass women tell me I'm too old to play a video game as they try and ban my guns. but that's a whole other story.

I think that the thought about having to stop doing anything because of age, only really applies to things that are viewed childish by older people.

As the older generation of people who did not grow up with games... gets older... and dies... then video games as a whole will simply become more and more accepted. To the point of it just being more normal and acceptable to do at any age. Specially the generations who did grow up playing games, I don't see any of them stopping one day... because they hit 30... it's just silly.

I think I slowed down in the amount of gaming that I did when I started working and making my own life, but once I settled in... back to gaming as I did before. thumb.gif

Never stop playing. Although there are a bunch of 12 years olds playing and even though i usually dont mind, but sometimes you run into the immature ones. Not even limited to little kids but i've met 20+ olds that are like that. There should be like limits to them maybe(x
