44 and I still game frequently -- sure as schitt beats reality TV. Ultimately, it's not the gaming that's the problem, it's the individual and their OCD. If anyone was drinking or smoking, popping pills, watching porn, playing sports, watching TV, shopping, reading, sleeping, having sex, working excessively - it all ends-up the same -- neglect. Fix the individual and all else resolves.

Is there an age you should stop watching movies or TV? Stop playing chess? What's the difference between gaming and anything else people do to entertain themselves in their free time?

Stupid topic.

I agree.

When is that mod going to finish reviewing the good thread on here tonight?

Let's go to a porno site and ask them if there is an appropriate age to stop *******.

lol ******* is edited.

Old people play games all the time, the only reason why they are not on computer is because they did not have them when they were younger.

Gaming is a form of entertainment, So when you are no longer entertained you can stop if you like. I however will be playing until I can play no longer.thumb.gif

I'm nearly 40 with a child and I still play games. My 13 year old nephew is visiting this weekend and you can bet that games will be played! On the other hand I watch zero television (don't even have cable) and weeks go by that we don't even watch a movie. So maybe that's where I find the time.

Deutsch is a smart advertising guy. Ask him about advertising.
When you ask and expert for advice outside of their area of expertise, it's not advice anymore, it's just an opinion.

Deutsch said "When you're 30, there should be something more on your mind than video games, that's it,"
True, but obvious. That doesn't mean you ONLY think about work, kids, wife, mortgage, flu vaccinations, paying for college, yardwork, the sticking garage door, is the washer going out?....retirement....you've got to have recreation or those things make you CRAZY.
You could say the same of golf, hunting, fishing, cars, working out or anything that's not so much productive but provide recreation. People without hobbies are usually not that happy. And I'd say more than 1 hobby, ideally.

I think my generation, maybe a bit before, are the first ones to have video games present pretty much our entire lives. It's like someone born in the early 50's and tv. At what age should you quit watching tv? Well, you never "should" quit, just do what you want.
