Do I have the worst 3570k for overclocking, ever?! - Page 2

I would post up your complete bios settings as someone here with the same board and chip may be able to assist you improving your settings.

ok, so you remounted the H100, having experience with remounting the H100 and the H70 I have on another pc, in reference to tim, you have to spread it on there really thick just like the stock paste was that came on it. I had done remountings using small amounts like you would with a good air cooler and was getting terrible temps and couldn't understand why. I then thought that the stock paste app worked better, so I tried spreading it thick like the stock paste was and that worked.

It's not , actually it's lower than it should be.

OP try to boot up @ 1.27v (so it would be 1.27v under load) , and 1.8 pll @ 4.4

I set CPU PLL to 1.6V, havent messed with Vcore settings, should I ? when I run bios, it says 46°C ±2 temp and 1.18Vcore

http://i48.tinypic.com/1zx7hxj.jpg after 22 minutes ( on 4.4ghz vcore was between 1.32-1.37 ) ( I know it should have been run 6-24 hours, w/e... ) 0 errors and vcore/temps are imho high for only 4.2gh. Also TMPIN2 temp in HWmonitor rose with cpu temp ( have no clue what that tpmin2 is though, but I wouldnt really want to burn something on the motherboard around the cpu smile.gif ) and yes, i am really noob in overclocking and honestly it doesnt bother me that much that I dont have 4.8ghz cpu, for bf3 is stock OC enough and I dont do anything else except gaming/movies smile.gif was just curious, since I read a lot about having 3570k not OCed is a waste...

You too have a pretty bad chip, but not as bad as mine =p

My 3570K runs @ 4.5GHz / 1.4 on a Noctua NH D14.

I already have my PC set in the bios at 1.27volts. What do you mean @ 4.4? 4.4ghz? 4.4 requires at least 1.4+ volts to even boot.

If you haven't already....goto advanced bios settings, 3D power control, Set phase control to EXM Perf, voltage response to Fast, and LLC to turbo. These settings have increased stability in my OC's when enabled. Good luck. thumb.gif

Thanks I will try this soon.

This is what happens when I put voltage to auto and run at 4.4 ghz. It aint pretty. This is running prime for less than a minute.

Well first try botting 4.3 with 1.8 pll, i cannot boot with lower than 1.7x pll too, it's always on auto/1.8 for me. Except when i'm benching 4.7+ i run @ 1.832 pll

I am very sure the paste is spread properly. I'm getting similar temps to when I used the stock paste anyway.

My bios default PLL is 1.8 and I used to run 4.3 all the time. Earlier I was running with 1.65 PLL perfectly fine.
