[PROJECT] The Woody Chronicles - Page 5

Case looks great! I love the idea of building from scratch out of wood. Can't wait to see the final result. Any thoughts yet on the swiftech fans? I'm curious to get your take. I have some of the GT's, but need to pick up some more fans, and I'm not eager to pay the premium if there are less expensive alternatives.

Oh and as far as testing the fans goes, I have made the case a priority so unfortunately I haven't done anything with them yet. Should get to it later this week or next weekend.

OMG it's finally (almost) done! Here's some photos. Some of the edges didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but overall I am quite happy with it. Only thing I'm waiting on to finish it completely is a couple more fans, the LED's to light up the inside, the 140mm fan grill for the front, and some longer SATA cables (I didn't have any long enough to reach from the mobo to the HDD cage so the drives are currently sitting on the shelf between the glass and the mobo frown.gif )

Anyway here they are. Like I said I will post more pics and a video once it is totally complete (a week or so) biggrin.gif. Let me know what you think! thumb.gif

Nice! How are you liking those fans?

Quite a bit actually. When they are turned down they are EXTREMELY quiet. Like walk in and think your PC isn't on quiet. And when they are turned about half way up they are almost as quiet but move a lot more air. With them at ~50-60% they run much quieter but much cooler than the cougars I had previously. GPU and CPU temps have dropped 5-8C smile.gif

Also, I just ordered some stuff to get the inside looking a little more attractive. Sleeved extensions for the front panel connectors for power, leds, usb, and audio. I also got this sleeved extension set for the 24/8/2x6 pins. I'm pretty stoked for them to get here later this week biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif
