radeonpro = lower temps/ lower power!

Hi guys

just thought I´d share this

Been playing guild wars 2 on the sapphire 7950 regular boost edition for some time now and thought I´d try for once to get rid of some stuttering showing mainly while panning on large scenarios

So I gave radeonpro a go, created a gw2 profile with the tweak dynamic vsync control (dynamic frame rate control with appropriate number of your choice works too) and.. bam!

not only the stuttering vanished but got a bonus:
the overall temps went down from mid 70´s to mid 60´s and peak power went down from 500watt to 430watt

So all and all totally recommended.!
I´m sure this will also reflect on whatever OC you might be doing

Just hope Amd will listen to these feed backs and insert the very same dynamic sync control onto the next batch of drivers

I know this is kind of old as a topic. But this made me curious for some reasons.

you mention stutter and 450-500 watts, i assume you're running on two 7950's?
Reason i ask is because i own a 7950 and even OCed i don't reach 400 watts in benchmarks with both CPU and GPU on full load. let alone 450-500.

If it's microstutter you mean, which can occur in crossfire then this seems logical. As for a single card it would come down to lag, i don't see what else you could possibly mean by stutter.

Basically what your saying is, you used radeon pro to limit frames and/or throw on Vsync on guild wars 2.
But you do realize you can use ingame Vsync which limits to 60fps, or as in did, limit frames with afterburner to 59 and still set Vsync on in game which also reduces/eliminates input lag.
