I like the emphasis on the bass in drums; what I notice most about my unamped Pro 550s is how they sound when listening to DnB. The snares and such sound flat, like they have no body, they're shrill, but other bass is GREAT.
I love my Ultrasones, I love how isolating they are in the city I live in, LA is a big place and there are tons of people, and when walking about the city they make my experience of the city so much greater. I really need a good pair of headphones for home use that are for music, and these are what I'm looking at.
Anyway, thanks for being so informative.
I own both the Pro 550's and the HE-400's so if your looking to get these and was wondering about any specific songs/genre's to compare I can do it
I would also suggest the upgrade for home use. I feel like the HE-400's are on a completely different level in every single way and I don't see anything beating them for the price as far as all-around headphones go. Sure there might be better headphones for specific things in the price... but nothing matches them if your looking for a "1 size fits all" headphone.
