When you bleed a system the point is to get the air out of the radiator and other parts so you can fully fill up the system. There is technically still air in the system though as you never fill the res to the rim because A: its really hard and B: because having an air pocket in the res allows the water to expand when heating up without excessive pressure build up.

Yeah, but I'm reading that adding a second fan would probably just temps by a few degrees only and is not worth the price of buying another fan.

No, no, no. Having the radiator in the bottom with the barbs/compression fittings facing upwards makes it much easier for the air trapped in the radiator to flow up into the res thus making bleeding a much faster and easier affair. This is due to the fact that air bubbles in water very much like to go up.

Ah. You're talking about a custom water loop here where the ideal place of the air bubbles would be in the res, right?

I actually have an AIO CLC system where the res and pump are in one combo package so with that the ideal place of the air bubbles would be in the radiator, right? And if I place it in the bottom, the air bubble tend to go up in the pum/res combo and can be considered bad?

In essence yes but All in one coolers have very little air in them so its highly doubtful that the air pocket where ever it might be would have any noticeable impact. Some AIO's might not have air in them at all instead relying on the tubes to absorb the volume variation.

I think the theory of a significant increase in pressure in the loop if you don't have a res due to expansion of the water as it heats up is vastly overstated. First of all, I do not think there is that much expansion, a physicist can answer that aspect. Second, the tubing will stretch and allow for any expansion. If it was not so, loops without reservoirs would not be very common.

My opinion.

Its not just a theory it very much a practical fact. If you have ever taken off the expansion cap from a warm car you would know this. While the phenomenon is much milder in computers due to less heat and volume it is still very much real. The tubing does stretch some but that takes force and that force increases the load on the tube connections. Even if you just have a a T-line and no res you still have some air to accommodate heat expansion. As for closed AIO loop. I'm not sure it they leave some air in thous or not. As they have a good deal less liquid then custom loops it might be that they make due with just the tube flex.
