OCZ Agility 3 is performing horribly

Thread Starter
all,
after seeing some benchmarks on hwbot and other various google searches, I have come to the conclusion that my ocz agility3 60gb ssd drive is pretty bad...i attached my best AS-SSD benchmark...any tips? the sequential write is horrible

*i tried running the test again with 1 thread prime95 running, and it made the outcome worse (seq write dropped to low 30's and then i aborted the rest

HELP! (this is in AHCI/SATAIII mode, no RAID)

EDIT: i ran some more searches, i guess this isnt really the best SSD (i tried to go cheap, thats what i get)...the Seq read is alright i guess...but the write is a little low...any tips?

No, your scores are pretty much the exact same as what my Agility 3's score when I use IDE or AHCI mode. The write speeds look a bit lower that what they should be so you could try updating the firmware and do a secure erease and retest the benchmark. Other than that, your fine. The read speeds are exactly what it should be.

That looks normal, my vertex 3 60gb scores around the same, although the write speeds do seem low for AHCI mode.
Try secure erasing with the Ocz bootable toolbox if the ssd has been in use for a while.

That seems too low for a Vertex 3?

Its running on a sata 3.0gb/s port on the nforce 780i with only ide support. Once i get the I7 3820 to finish my X79 build i can have it running at 6.0gb/s. Heres a Vertex 2 on the 780i ide.

The Agility 3 has always been a pretty awful drive. Even in comparison to the V3 that was it's launch partner.
I must be lucky then as the specs say the 60GB should run at 525/475 and mine runs at 556/497.
ATTO Proof (Click to show)

Just ordered a OCZ Agility 3 120GB so hope that runs as fast =)
