Never mind... re-doing this without video card.

Sell that RAM. Get like $50 for it and set the budget at $750

Some people consider "not handling" 50FPS or below...

I can play fine as long as its above 20FPS.

omg, that's just wrong.

The performance difference when the resolution and detail level are turned up is nearly non-existent coming in at .2 fps at the most.

As I have written here Cho. I can actually go Dual-Core now that I think about it.

yea, a more viable goal is along the lines of 'Managably play Oblivion at 1024x768' for under 700$

Well, with my 17" CRT that's about as high as it'll go anyway.

A core 2 duo rig. No video card, and new RAM (assuming you can sell the old RAM you have for like $50 or so).

Total: $725.45

oh.. wait.. AMD forum. sorry

Replace the E6300 with an X2 4200+ and the mobo with an DFI INFINITY NF570-M2/G Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 MCP or similar mobo, and the price will be the same, but performance will be less
