Hello OCN

I have had a Fractal Design Define R3 for some time now and every time i look at it it seems drab, there are battle wounds from where it has been to many LANs the internals just it and cable management is a horror show. So I have decided to strip it all down and do some clean mods to make it look amassing.

This is how my config used to look like.

My horrid Cables

I have been working heaps to afford what i will need. The first ting i have done is strip the whole case down so i can paint. I am going for a red white and black colour scheme. will go for a darker cherry red on the inside and go for a fire engine red for the cable sleeves.

The Motherboard tray will be red

The rear IO section will be red

The IO shield its self will be black

Red for the ODD Bay aswell

The top of my case has got a lot of scratches on it where other people but their case on top of mine, so i will paint this a Matte black.

As for the iconic front door from the R3 i have no way of repairing the damage do i plan to take it back for painting and use a high gloss gunmetal grey or black but if any one knows of a way to recreate it cheaply of repair it let me know.

I have done away with the HDD rack and gone for a look like @ekg84

http://cdn.overclock.net/5/50/50d1df9a_DSC_0209.jpeg

I am also going to improve the intake for the front fans by removing the slatted intake design and going with a perforated steel look.

And the most important part is the window it will be smaller than shows in the image

These are the main mods i am going to make, there are other little things that i am going to do but this is the main concept

Also I NEED A NAME you guys can give me some ideas!

Let me know If I am gonna run in to any trouble also!

UPDATE!

I have moved my hardware to a new case in order to go to a LAN, was a squeeze due to the fact that I have no cases that fit my motherboard.

Found my new case feet from an old pioneer speaker system. =)

Going to paint the fan blades red to go with the colour sceme. Also these are really quiet fans.

Found this random piece... If any one knows where it goes let me know.

This was my build for the LAN had to cut the case to pieces in order for it all to fit....

On a side note my H80 exploded while i was there, i could not use my PC because there were no spare coolers... Contacted Corsair for an RMA.

A good mate of mine gave me some slick cable ties for management...

I have put all of the stuff from the case in different bags so i know where it all is.

Might can the HDD idea and paint the sleds red and lop the rack down to size....

See you guys soon!

Damn that flat black came out really nice.

Quick question, any reason why you chose the spelling "Devine" instead of "divine" ?
