Help me overclock my E6400 plz

Ok guys, ill admit i know nothing about overclocking but i would love to learn, and love to make my computer faster. If someone could forward me to a guide on how to do so, or make a quick one themselves i would appreciate it ALOT. Ive got a E6400 Core duo chip.

this is my computer, i put an extra gig of ram in it if that makes a difference.
Also, i checked out IGN's guide but there options in there processor editor thing that are different from mine, or just non existant. I know i sound stupid abo0ut this stuff, thats because i am.
This is igns guide http://pc.ign.com/articles/747/747606p1.html.

What im wondering is what if i dont change an option they tell me to, or i dont know where my nforce spp voltage option is(what ever that is...)
I downloaded some system monitering things and Orthos, incase i try it.
Any help is appreciated , thanks.

Hey thanks dude, that was really helpfull. A few things though, umm givin the info from my cpu, should i put my ram at 667? They say bump it up so it's a 1:1 ratio so do i put it higher?
Also
When he sais up the Voltage a point, that means from 2.2 to 2.3 right? lol im just making sure.

fill in your system specs under quick linsk at the top of the page, careful wehn adjusting voltages watch your temps, 2.2vdimm (the ram voltage) should be fine for until you get high speeds and up your vcore by .05 increments or less if you have the option, and remember do plenty of stress testing using prime95 or orthos

OK, so i was messsing around, checking temperatures and stuff. And with no stress the cpu temp stays around 50, with stress (orthos) it went up to like 67, and that was only after a few minutes. This is with no overclocking done, does that mean my cooling/motherboard is ****? cause i thought the chip should stay under 65 no problem if i havent tweeked it.

Have you put the rig together yourself? They are very high temps. I idle at 28c with load with Orthos at 45.

Maybe you should try reseating the heatsink with some AS5? Or get better cooling

No i didnt put it together myself. Came in a package deal type thing. Does ur cpu idle at 28 or your whole system? I dont think ill try overclocking at least til i get better cooling, or figure out whats wrong. Either way i still dont really understand why it can get so hot without overclocking it.
