[autoblog] Audi takes cars that park themselves to a whole new level - Page 7

If you're going to let the car go park on it's own, then you are better off getting yourself a limousine with a driver.

Even if I have lots and lots of money and can afford to buy this car, I would not trust the automation if its not guaranteed by audi
That would be a good way to boost consumer confidence, though then I'd wonder if it would only be covered during some warranty period then?

I look forward to the day I can meet my car in front of my house, get in and have it drive me to the mall. Get out at the main doors and have it park itself. Then once I'm done have it meet me at the main doors and drive me home, dropping me off in front of my house and then going to find somewhere to park.

Replace mall with work/dentistoffice/store/relatives/friends/wherever and we have a bright future of no more driving. No more dealing with the significant number of incompetent drivers who should have never been allowed a drivers license in the first place.

I do wonder how old I'll be when this sort of thing becomes mainstream. Hopefully before I die anyways :/

i just want to enter my car precooled when it's hot outside, and preheated when it's cold, and the engine already warmed up.

Impressive technology, but a terrible idea.

I am assuming you go to jail and the car gets scrapped or given back to Audi to be resold.

Nice Car, and cool idea. But there's if's and what's and how.....

How would the car tell ther difference between the exit and entrance way into this multi-story car park? especially if they had barriers?

If it hit a predestrian, who is liable for charges?

And the only time they would make any profit from it that if it was cheap for all Audi's
