In order to make 2000mhz ram stable you need 2800-3200mhz cpu/nb frequency .

I started by lowering my multi a few so i had some leeway. Then tried 5-10mhz bumps rebooting the rig and running a quick Prime/IBT. I wouldn't "bet the farm" on getting to 2000Mhz DDR3 i managed 1733Mhz but it is doable though with Phenom II X6's.

Thanx.

Hi again...finally i got some time available to startup messing with the configs and see what i can do with this...
so you are saying that i just can acheive 2000Mhz by upping the NB frequency?

I have also my older mems ...a kit of 4Gb DDR3 OCZ 1600Mhz CL7... i just need 4gb of ram because it are enough for what im using now...

What kit you guys think that i should install with this system? The older OCZ 1600Mhz CL7 or the Teamgroup 2000Mhz CL9?

THks

Those OCZ's run at 1.9V ? Phenom II cpu's love tightened timings so go with OCZ. And btw 4gb is not always enough to play games at high setting (1440x900 all ultra BF3 used 5.5gb of ram during 64 Multi)

Hi Pawelr98...
these OCZ are marked to 1,65v and not 1,9v:
http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-ddr3-pc3-12800-platinum-amd-edition-eol.html

I had them running primestable @ 1600Mhz 7-7-7-24 CR2 and @ 1333Mhz 6-6-6-18 CR1 with my old AMD Phenom II X3 710 as you can see in these pics:

Actualy as i said i have these TeamGroup running @ 1600Mhz CL9

I have already read that AMD platforms prefer low timmings rater than higher Frequency but the values by memory benchmark of AIDA64 Extreme Edition had gave me better values with these Teamgroup...

Eventually there is a way to put both modules (total 8Gb) together? I ask these because one module are stock @ 1600 CL7 and other @ 2000 CL9...

Thks for your help

Hi...
i have tried to put these TeamGroup modules working at low CL but seems they wont work...seems that it just like timming of CL9 and up...all timming that i have tried low that CL9 @ 1600Mhz the PC didnt boot.
I have run the Aida64 and on the SPD menu i have this:

Maybe they just accept the timming profiles that are mentioned there i dont know...frown.gif

So...i really dont think i can put them together (4gb OCZ + 4gb Teamgroup) working @ 1600Mhz

I still havent tried to put them running @ 2000Mhz becaue for that i must raize the CPU Bus freq...

What you advice to do? Bumping up the CPU Bus Freq. and try to run them @ 2000Mhz and see if it works or forget these Modeules and place the OCZ and run it @ 1600Mhz CL 7-7-7-24?

Thks for the help

Hi again...now im running the TeamGroup memory kit at 1710Mhz CL8 stable with all stock voltages.

Before i replace them for the OCZ kit i will try to push these kit as up as i can. Wich values can i increase a bit on the bios so i can try to up this a little bit?
Vdimm are 1,65v (these memory default) how many decimals can i increase it? 1,7v is too much?
Changing the HT link speed or CPU/NB frequency on the bios could help me with that?
Here is a video link that shows well all options of my bios (on the 40 seconds of the video).

Thks for all the help again

Cheers

Hi again...
all my tests showed me that the "wall" of the TeamGroup module was arround 1700Mhz even with a little bump on the CPU/NB voltage. This 1700Mhz was reached with the timmings on AUTO (9-9-9-24 1T)

I have tested now the OCZ kit and started with 240 FSB; 2400 CPU/NB freq.; 1920 HT LINK and 1600Mhz CL7-7-7-24 1T on the RAM's.

25mins of PRIME 95 showed me no errors.

Now i have 3 possible cenarios:
1) stay with 2x2gb TeamGroup working at 1700Mhz CL9-9-9-24 1T?

2) change it by the OCZ 2x2gb working at 1600Mhz CL7-7-7-24 1T?

3) try to put them togheter and get 2x2g + 2x2gb (8gb total) at 1600Mhz CL8? (because the minimum timming that i could get with the teamgroup was CL8)

In your opinion wich is the best choice?

P.S. Im not a extreme gamer but i play regulary. I use some Photoshop too regulary and the other uses are for internet most of times...

Thks again
