7970 Microstutter in fullscreen windowed mode/windowed mode - Page 2

If you already did a full clean fresh install and it's still there, it could be that the drivers are not optimized for windowed full screen mode? As you've said, in normal full screen gaming, there is no microstutter, only when in windowed mode. From my experience, windowed mode always felt choppier vs full screen. Maybe there is just no fix for windowed mode for 7900 series? Most people play in normal full screen.

I may have fixed the problem, i went into safe mode uninstalled with driversweeper then installed the 12.10 drivers and i think its gone. But its strange because on my other 2 broken xfx 7970 all drivers had stutter but that;s probably because its broken getting a bunch of artifacts. Will report back if it isnt fixed, thanks for all the help so far biggrin.gif

Argh, this is so annoying some restarts it works fine and i think it somehow miraculously fixed itself. Then i restart then its back to all crappy stuttery unplayable performance.

How far do you think i could get when overclocking my 970 BE? i have a stock cooler but as of now it goes to 61 degrees when playing Guild Wars 2 which is a pretty cpu intensive game, Also the CPU stock cooler goes about 4500RPM at 55 degrees and upto 6000+RPM. I am worried about that as it goes pretty loud. I don't think i can OC anymore. As my GPU at 100% fan speeds are at 4400RPM :s (while playing GW2)

Use RadeonPro 's dynamic vsync option and tweaks and micro stutter no more.

I wouldn't overclock on a stock cooler.

My wife's 7970 doesn't have this problem (That I can see) and atm shes only using my old 965 @ 4.0

Really? with a 965? That is so weird but a lot of people have been telling me that my 970 is causing the problem and that its a bottleneck unless that i overclock. Now i don't know what the problem is anymore frown.gif
