Have you considered overclocking? Are you certain your lag is caused by your CPU?

The 3570K does not support hyperthreading - http://ark.intel.com/products/65520/Intel-Core-i5-3570K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_80-GHz

iI'd say to first make sure your internet is up to par as streaming is very very heavy on the internet use. If that's solid, check out your CPU and see if all of the cores are being used while doing so. If they aren't then I wouldn't upgrade. Also, make try an overclock and see if that helps. But if money isn't a huge issue than I'd say that the 3770k is definitely a good choice if you are going to be able to utilized the extra cores.

I had it overclocked at 4.5 before and it ran pretty well. The only problem was getting it to a low enough temperature where it was comfortable. I will just put it back up to 4.5. Do you guys have any suggestions on heatsinks? I currently have a Hyper 612.

if anything i would check your internet speed with speedtest.net that will be first thing to test. better than upgrading the CPU would be to use a dedicated PCIe NIC card as they will allow you to offload more of the network protocol's to the NIC from the CPU. most onboard NIC's arent that great in doing so or so i have heard.

Also, should I look into testing my RAM? Could that even be a part of the problem?

What temps were you seeing and at what voltage?
