RAM help.

Thread Starter
Hello. The current mobo I have has 2 slots for ram, each containing 2gb of ddr3 ram clocked at 1333mhz, for a total of 4gb. The mobo I soon will be ordering will have 4 slots for ram, and i was wondering if i could buy 2 more sticks of 1333mhz 2gb ram for a total of 8. If so, is the new ram required to be the same brand for it to all work properly? Sorry if the post is unclear, it is almost 3 in the morning, and my mind is wondering like mad. Thanks (:

If both sets have the same timing and voltage you should be fine.

EDIT
Example
Both sets has 9-9-9-27 1.5v then you are good.
If 1 set is 9-9-9-27 1.65v and the other set is 9-9-9-27 1.5v then there will be problems.
Or 1 set is 8-8-8-24 1.5v and the other set is 9-9-9-24 1.5v there may be a problem here too.

No, not necessarily.. In my opinion I would go with the same brand as other brands might not be constructed as good.
