and today i will be ordering a GIGABYTE AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB
thanks in advance

A step-by-step guide is pretty useless.
While it may cover you brands of hardware, it's not your hardware.

There are many differences between the overclockability of like hardware.
One CPU may easily do 5ghz, while another( that's exactly the same) may only do 4.7ghz.. And it may take different settings to get each to where it can go. The same is true for motherboards, memory, and graphics cards (though, for some reason, less so for graphics cards?)

If I were starting overclocking again, I'd read a bunch of guides to get a sense of what it's all about, reading posts or asking questions along the way for what I didn't understand.

Then start "messing around". See what the various changes do for your system, what works and what doesn't. Write down what you change and the result or you'll just get lost and confused.

You'll also need a bunch of software

See my sig, and good luck
