Help me choose a GeForce 680 please (options inside)

As the tittle sugest.. i need help choosing a Nvidia 680

1.- im not a "extreme gamer" who plays every single game released on earth

2.- I do have a 120HZ monitor (LG W2363D wich is 3D vision ready BTW)

3.- I dont care if every single video setting its turned to the max...

4.- It needs to live at least until Nvidia Maxwell arch its released

I am a little sensitive with frames below 60fps.. too much time under that mark/too low FPS and i start to feel weird, i need to get up or it gets worst

HERE ARE THE OPTIONS:

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Signature2-Dual-Link-Graphics-02G-P4-2687-KR/dp/B008AFZ0VQ/ref=sr_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1358200826&sr=1-6&keywords=geforce+gtx+680

http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-PCI-Express-Graphics-GV-N680OC-2GD/dp/B007ZUDOKG/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1358200826&sr=1-4&keywords=geforce+gtx+680

http://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-GeForce-Express-Graphic-68NPH6DV6AXX/dp/B007UMH2LG/ref=sr_1_28?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1358200939&sr=1-28&keywords=geforce+gtx+680

http://www.amazon.com/Zotac-GeForce-Express-DisplayPort-ZT-60102-10P/dp/B007ZMTPSO/ref=sr_1_43?ie=UTF8&qid=1358201547&sr=8-43&keywords=geforce+680

Picked this card because its suposed to be "great quality" pcb/vrm wise and all of that.. it should live for long time

http://www.amazon.com/MSI-DispayPort-PCI-Express-N680GTX-LIGHTNING/dp/B008D1JKF4/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1358201515&sr=8-17&keywords=geforce+680

whats the difference with this version?!?!

http://www.amazon.com/MSI-DisplayPort-PCI-Express-N680-2GD5/dp/B0090EC9IS/ref=sr_1_34?ie=UTF8&qid=1358201547&sr=8-34&keywords=geforce+680

IT NEEDS TO BE AMAZON ONLY, i have some gift card balance available for it

thanks in advance for the help AND +REP TO EVERYONE thumb.gif

Well the Lightning is pretty much the top-end card - is that the one you decided to go with? the major difference between it and the Power Edition is the higher stock clock speed, and if you flash the old BIOS you can over volt the card (at least I think that is still possible). Not sure it's worth the price premium though, unless you plan to try to overvolt.

Have you considered just getting a GTX 670 instead though? Pretty close to the same performance as the GTX 680 (within 10%) but costs $100 less. Like this one:

1.- no, im not set in the lightning.. just "thinked" it maybe is worth it becuase the upgraded vrm/whatnot design

2.- true about the 670.. but im going to OC the 680 too, so the difference will still be there wink.gif

im looking for a 680 for the sole reason its the top end nvidia card (nvm the 690) and i want/need to keep that card for at least 2 years..or when a REAL upgrade comes with time

the thing is that i dont know what to choose from all the options.. +rep for the help thumb.gif

That Zotac AMP cooler works incredibly well from what I have read but it's a tripple-slot cooler. I would go with the MSI personally.

Have you looked at the 680 Lightning owner's thread? Lots of info on BIOS versions and other tweaks. Again, I'd go with the MSI thumb.gif

Go for the MSI lightning. Top end MSI card.

Here is a chart which shows the differences with the MSI series of cards: http://event.msi.com/vga/2012/series-comparison/

Go for the MSI lightning its the better card of those you picked the gigabyte WF3 is not bad either though the MSi will OC better

I would go for MSI or EVGA. MSI cards are always nice and for $30 more might as well get the Lightning, otherwise EVGA always has good customer service.

+ 1 to EVGA or MSI. Great cards with great warranties.

I would go to the MSI 680 Lightning card....it's a beast card, will be completely monster (most of them) when you unlock the BIOS with the unlocked one....you can find the BIOS on the MSI 680 Lightning owners thread. Good Luck thumb.gif
