Wii-U wants to be hardcore but its GPU won't let it.biggrin.gif

This is kind of embarrassing. And a bit odd, you'd think someone would have had a look at the hardware capabilities before deciding to release a demanding game on the platform.

Wow didn't think there would be such Nintendo hate on the site where the majority of users are supposedly "tech-savy" or at least enough to know that the WiiU is a more powerful console (even tough it's not by much).

That being said this is a non-story as its been updated with by other users on this thread.

If they can do it on PS3/360, then there is no reason they can't do it on Wii U. But as they have to put extra effort to do the same result on Wii U ( as they need to defer more stuff to GPU), they didn't bother.

I also like when people act like actual visual fidelity is > aesthetics

Some of the best looking games ever made have come out on hardware with extremely low power (okami, super mario galaxy, shadow of the colossus, ICO, katamari etc)

Obviously it's a shame that a potentially great game is missing this platform, but it's so tiresome to hear overzealous PC master-race people talk about how the only games that look good can only be run on PCs (im exaggerating, but you get the point lol)

Does this really matter? I mean anyone who buys a Nintendo system is buying it for Nintendo games and the few exclusives it'll get like ZombiU. They haven't had great third party support for awhile now, why anyone thought that would change now is beyond me...

PS. i'm having alot of fun playing NSMBU and Nintendo Land.

It's close to Xenon, but doesn't beat it iirc...That's kinda okay though, considering that the GPU is mostly used.
