c2d rig problem (its alive )

ok so i have the rig in my sig, now it has been oced to 480x8 with the ram running at 480 mhz
voltages are vcore 1.63 vdimm 2.30 and the others were bumbed up a notch or 2 from stock cant remember exact values, max temps reached under dual load have been around -13c or so and its been doing this for a few weeks now running 24/7 folding on both cores wheni wasnt playiong games,

now today for some reason i got the bsod and it went thru the dumbing physical memory to harddisk, completed that then restarted and everything was fine,

so i was like uh ok then about 20 minutes later the same thing, now the first bsod said it was due to nv4 drivers or whatever and the second was a win32 driver or app or something and it did the memory dump completed and restarted, so this time i decidded to ramp down my oc to 470 or so and loosend my ram timings a bit and reset it and it didnt boot up, the fans and lights and everything come on but theres no single beep like it normally does and nothing comes on screen,

so i decided to reset the cmos and did that a long one for like a hour and tried rebooting and nothing same as before (lights fans no beep or post)

i tried swityching ram slots and single stick of ram and tried my gskill and same results, im kind of at a loss here, cant think of what it would be, any ideas welscome

That happened to me and it was unfortunately the mobo. I found it very difficult to troubleshoot but by process of elimination got to the mb. I ordered a new one based on this guess and I was right.

edit: This was on a 820 D rig I had and not on my current one. Still 775 tho.

Those are really high volts for the memory and the processor. I have 1.3V on my proc and 2.35V on my memory and I have 3.4Ghz with my E6300.

Well is .33V worth a mere 400Mhz more?? Almost half a volt for 400 mhz and possibly might be the reason your comp isn't working.

Did you lock the PCI-E to 101 and PCI to 33.33mhz?

Seems like some piece of hardware is failing.

well i got it fired back up agian finally, i went thru the ram thing agian switching them out and finally it worked on one of the tries so i reset the ram voltage and put both sticks back in and restarted and it booted right up so i decided to lower the vcore and took down the oc a bit to 3.76 but with vcore at 1.56 this time and it worked great, i dont know why i had the vcore so high, i think something i did when i firsted oced it that made me think it needed more vcore to get to my oc

anyways ran prime at those specs for ten hours and all was good so i took it up to 3.8ghz at the same vcore and gonna see how that works, if its cool i amy try to lower vcore again and see if i can keep it stable there

i still dont understand why it wouldnt restart though seems kind of odd but guess ill se how it goes from here

soo, the next day after this run it did the same thing that it was doing before, ive messed with everyhting in the bios that i can mess with and even at 3.0 ghz it would do this after awhile, whats funny i could tell when it was going to be unstable by how fast id loaded bios and windows, when i got into windows the ram would error (using memtest) like right away, and then sometimes i would restart and it would be fine atleast for a while then bam bsod and memory dump

well i seem to have it stable now for the most part, apparently this guy needs alot of voltage to the chipsets to work right, i guess i shouldl have upped those before everything else, ive gotten it to go 3.8ghz w/1.55vcore and 2.3 vdimm but the chipsets are maxed on there voltage (time for some better cooing for those guys, thats why i like water cooling the nb ) and it seems to be performing fine

i looked around and it seems that alot of people ran auto on these so i tried that and it wouldnt even boot and any voltage below the max on these would nt let it run stable

oh and i switched out psu,s since i thought that might be part of it but got similer results, new psu is the antec true power trio 650 version, seems to be doing good though

maybe i just have a less refined mobo then most others do, who knows
