Please help with Prime95 RAM

Thread Starter
I'm trying to stress with Prime95 but I'm having a problem. I can't get it use more than 2GB of RAM. I have the x64 version. I've tried setting the program to 10 priority, set it to high priority in Windows 8 and maxed out the RAM usage in Prime95. I've attached a screenshot during a stress test. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

for me its normal....same situation when i stress test my CPU to prime 95... the main purpose of Prime 95 is for your CPU to get the stable set-up when your goin to Overclock by stress testing....

so your fine with that nothing to make panic dude thumb.gif

In the Prime95 Settings - How it should be set up! section of the Ivy Bridge Overclocking Guide by Swag, he says to put in your total available RAM you want tested. Link to post: Ivy Bridge Overclocking Guide. I don't know why you would change RAM usage value if Prime isn't going to use it anyway.

Thanks for the better suggestion. Running memtest now. I'll leave prime for the cpu.

If you want Prime95 to use more ram, you have to do a Custom Blend test. Instead of it using 1600MB of memory change that to 7400 MB assuming you have 8GB of ram. If you have more, use this formula: x times 0.9 = the amount of memory you use ex. I have 8 gb of ram which is 8192MB and 8192 x 0.9 is 7372.8. Then you just round it, since Prime doesn't accept fractions.
