help find the keyboard i need! - Page 2

The upcoming corsair K95? Its full mechanical.. red keys.. white back lighting.. has a wrist rest from initial pics. Other than that get a ducky shine and a separate wrist rest
post #12 of 23
Is there a need for the wrist rest to be attached to the keyboard? Grab a ducky shine and a ducky leather wrist rest.

Something like this for the rest:
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=19746

and this keyboard:
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=21039

if not what about the Logitech G710:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823126299

I know you didnt want macro keys but you may have to compromise somewhere here.

the rest has to be attached, its not being used ina desk environment so needs to be 1 piece,

the G710 looks awesome i havent even thought about it! brown keys would also be pretty ideal!

I have never used / know anyone who ownes the G710 so im not too sure on how durable it will be, but going on how much abuse I put through my G17 im guessing it will be up to the task.

Mmm just thinking about wrist rests makes me want to get one of these:

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet:

Gigabyte Aivia Osmium. It meets all of your requirements with the only exception being that it has blue backlighting.

yeah i saw these, shame there not practical for this aplication frown.gif

the g710+ looks good

honestly the wrist rest is the clients biggest concern, ie he used my lycosa and fell in love with how sturdy the wrist rest is,

note its screwed in 2 times on both tabs on left and right,

so its properly on there.
What environment is the keyboard being used? Just wondering why such a sturdy wrist rest is needed.

Just looking at the G710+ the rest does not look like it is attached so well:

yea i had a look to,

the guy rage quits ALOT. keyboard is first thing to go. he sits on the sofa to game on the keyboard so it sits on his lap, and gaming without a wrist rest is a serious nono.
"Just tell that guy mech keyboard will cause lap injuries if placed on lap for too long cause its heavy, and mech keycaps are too tall to type comfortably on the lap. lycosa is the way to go !. " save yourself the trouble for finding him the "right" kb =p

If this bloke rages so much I don't think that he needs a much I think he needs to find an outlet for his rage. Using a much keyboard in this situation won't help IMO. Its still going to get broken and just be a waste of money at the end of the day.
