I still havent figured out why some times a gfx card overclock will sometimes artifact then sometimes not, it doesnt seem to be correlated directly to just temperature or just load or just duration of the load... it seems to be a combination of all of these things, but one thing is for sure, Ive never seen purple blocks as a by-product of artifacting due to an unstable (or seemingly stable) overclock.

Although I know there are probably only 2 ways to fix this:
back off the overclock a bit OR
volt mod to get more power going to the GPU in order to allow it to render error-free (artifacting is basically just the gfx card erroring due to an unstable overclock, just like how prime95 fails due to instabilities in overclocking a CPU, or memtest throwing errors when overclocking RAM)

There is a good and easy way to volt-mod the 6600 cards, and its safe enough as long as you volt-mod carefully, make sure you have good cooling (stock is not recommended), and make sure the pencil(s) you use to volt-mod are the correct type and sharpened. For more info on volt modding, read up in the video card section of the volt modding sub forums here (located like RIGHT below the video card sub forums, IIRC)

hi guys i changed from 560 to 540..my current clock speeds are

540/1162

no more Artifacting in Toca 3..
Soo is this my Overclocking limit???i hope not..

It seems it is at the moment. Try 550 even, maybe 545 - if you arent satisfied, Id say try volt-modding very lightly (like +.1v) and see if you like the temps.
