Gigabyte HD 7950 wf3

Thread Starter
Hello,

I have recently purchased this card (GB HD 7950 wf3) with bios F3 (1000 MHz GPU, 1,25 V GPU). On discussions I often can see that people use MSI Afterburner to modify voltage. But when I install Afterburner, the slider is grey, I cannot modify voltage.

Can you please give me advice, how to change voltage or to be able to change the voltage at the card?

Thank you in advance.

H.

have you gone to the settings and checked - unlock voltages?

stay far away from that or other app found in that site. either stick with CCC, AB, and Trixx.2cents.gif

One more and last question, Mr. rdr09: is there any safe low voltage for GPU or should I just try out?

I plan to cool my card in the future but before that I would like to minimise heat from voltage as much as possible.

i recommend sticking with the default settings on gpus. adjusting stuff might cause problems. our windforce runs cool and quiet. when i had the stock cooler on my load temps never went above 60C iirc at stock. Driver 12.10 was the one that raised my temps but with the latest driver - my default settings are back and temps are good. especially now that it is watercooled.biggrin.gif

just play with it for now (oc'ing) using guides here in ocn. enjoy your games.thumb.gif

wf3 is good cooler BUT - 1. VRM is exposed, they go close to 90C at 1,25 V 2. at 1,25 V GPU temp goes above 70C - for that reason I would like to keep low voltages before I do any modifications (at least put some heatsinks on VRM)..
Take care.

true. either that or ramp up the fan a bit to around 40% or better yet - make a custom profile. up to you.

i use HWiNFO64 to monitor my temps. make sure you have good air flow in your case and try to keep the vrms under 80C (my standard).
