Setpoint isn't great but it has worked well enough for me. I HATE mouse acceleration and while Setpoint alone doesn't fix the issue I have been able to get rid of acceleration in all the games I play using that and other things as required by one game or another. If the OP hasn't tried it but has tried reloading, which takes much, much more time, why not?

Maybe he should try ditching MarkC's fix and raw input mode and use other fixes for mouse acceleration. At least to see if the negative acceleration goes away.

I used a G400 recently, did not install setpoint and the mouse worked perfectly (no accel, no prediction, etc).

OP, when you try your mouse on a different rig you never get accel?

Just curious i'm guessing you have tried properly testing if you have accel, like doing slow spin and then going back fast, does it go on the same spot?

Maybe it's different feeling then CPL Mouse Fix when using MarkC

Yes, this is how I conducted the test. I have negative mouse acceleration. It's not major but it's there. I am not sure if it's negative acceleration or some kind of lag by hardware.

I have g400 and it doesnt use on board so installing drivers would be pointless unless you need to map keys if you dont leave it uninstalled. the mouse dpi are set perfectly too. 400800/1800/3600. I dont really trust LGS 8.40 or set point since it use to make my mx518 act weird

try removing mark c mouse accel fix. if you have raw input checked it shouldn't matter. obviously it wouldnt apply to games that dont have it, but might be worth a shot. another thing is to try it without raw input, and make sure you dont have any launch commands

I'm wondering if the OP ever found a solution to this problem as i'm going through the exact same thing.
I'm beginning to think the issue is MOBO / BIOS related, but i would like to know if demzie ever resolved this.

Well, I consider myself more sensitive to system latency than 99.9% of people walking the planet and my system (as listed below) doesn't feel right unless I have all of the following set:

- HPET off in BIOS - if I leave this on, feels like my cursor has way higher lag / slow response

- Intel management engine interface driver - installing this thing (it's on windows update or intel driver CD) will hugely affect your cursor. Feels about the same as turning HPET on.

- Ram: 1600 mhz divider and 7-8-7-24 settings, if I raise to 9-9-9-24, I actually notice a less responsive cursor, this happened with my Asus Sabertooth 55i too. if I raise it to 2000+ mhz with loose timings, it still doesn't feel as good as tight timings and lower mhz.

- all power saving modes, dynamic overclocking, execute disable bit, and other non-essentials must be turned off in bios until your DPC latency is single digits (mine is 2).

- set power phases to maximum always turned on in BIOS

- You need to install Intel(R)_USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver if your system has native Intel USB 3 ports even if you do not use them.

- do not use Aero, use only WIndows 7 classic UI

- run "clear all windows experience index scores and re-rate the system" after installing new GPU drivers

- do not use AA, AO, or any other lag adding features, AF (texture filtering) is alright since it's doing that anyway. There's a sample of what my Nvidia control panel looks like even though you have ATI:

If you use an Nvidia card, read my thread on Nvidia drivers and their input lag: http://www.overclock.net/t/1388836/input-lag-in-nvidia-drivers

There's a few more things I can't remember, but this gives you a good idea of things to look in to.

AMD. Might be slightly different on newer cards.
