New Build, problem with using a old DVD with IDE->SATA adapter, can't install Windows 7

Hi, I've ordered a PC and decided to build it on my own. Everything went without a glitch before I was done and wanted to install Windows 7 by using my old IDE DVD drive from a DELL computer. I ordered an adapter for it, so I could use that DVD. I've plugged in the SATA 3.0 cable from my motherboard to the adapter, plugged the 4-pin power connector to the dvd from my PSU and also connected an FDD cable to the adapter, because it need a separate power cable. The light beeps in the front of the dvd when the disc is in, and the adapter's light is also on, that means it 's ok, but I think, my motherboard can't recognize the DVD for some reason. I've tried to plug it into different sata ports, but everytime is the same, though when plugged everything how it's supposed to, my BIOS load up much slower then without the DVD connected, so it probably sees it for a moment or smh. Anyway, I hope some of you may know the answer, cause I've tried everything I came up with. BTW, I've put the DVD to my old PC and it loads the WIN 7 disc. (it's an IDE only connector)
These are the parts:
AMD FX-8320
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 rev 1.1
8GB RAM
1 TB SATA HDD
AMD 7850 HIS Graphic Card
Thermaltake SMART 650W (80+Bronze)

It looks to me like the SATA cable needs to be connected to the IDE to SATA HDD connector (as it is an IDE device that you're trying to use with a SATA cable and not a SATA device that you're trying to use with an IDE cable)

Just did it, no luck. Though it seems the DVD is spinning. There are two lights at the bottom of the adapter, this time it was red (IDE to SATA), and SATA to IDE it was orange

Which adapter did you get, they aren't all bi-directional. Some are specifically for going from IDE > SATA others from SATA > IDE, at least from what I'm seeing. Also sidenote, how much was the adapter. If you spent 20+ on it you could have gotten a basic dvd drive with SATA for that much.

*Edit* nevermind, looked closer at pic and it is bi-directional. You want to use the one on the right. SATA to IDE HDD.

it costed 17 Franks for me, almost the same converted to dollars, and yeah I realised I could have bought a new DVD, but I looked at the prices after I ordered my stuff..
