Intel i5 i5-3350P vs. AMD A10-5700

I really need some help. Is one of these clearly better than the other? I am planning on getting a computer and I can't decide which one is better. My overall understanding is that AMD provides a good values but Intel has the best/most powerful processors currently. Thanks.

What are you planning to use the computer for?

For heavy 2d work such as video rendering, the i5 is better.
For 3d gaming, the A10 is better because it has a faster GPU.

If you want the best of both, buy the i5 and a PCI-E Radeon card such as HD7770

The i5-3350P is clearly superior for all CPU-specific tasks.

However the i5-3350P does NOT come with any integrated graphics capability at all (that's what the P means), so you WILL have to buy a video card to go along with it, no matter what you're doing. The A10 has pretty good integrated graphics, possibly approaching the capability of $60-70 video cards.

As for cost-efficiency, there's no reason to assume AMD will always win on that front. The i3-3220 is better than the A10 for many tasks, for instance, and should cost about the same or even a little less.

Thanks a lot guys. I am leaning toward a low end core i5 as it seems to be more powerful than even the upper end AMD CPUs.
