Hi

can somebody point me on how install old OS Drive to a newly assemble system, different motherboard, CPU chip and RAM from previous system where this drive was installed with the OS on it.

i'm planning to upgrade from Intel X58 Windows 7 to Intel X79 Windows 7, is this possible without reformatting the old dri:ove?

thank you

it is possible tho drivers for the motherboard will be different so will need updating. just connect the SSD first and and update everything thats needed for the new platform. connect the HDD after and that should be the easy part.

not all the time it works as i have found but atleast try it and see. even if you do need a fresh install atleast you will have a nice clean system smile.gif

Plug it in and see if it boots. Make sure the SATA mode is set the same as the previous mobo.

If you still have access to the old system, you can sysprep the current install to make moving it hassle free. You'll have to re-activate though (although you probably will anyway with the MB change).
