GTX 680 causing RAM problems

Thread Starter
I have just installed my new GTX 680 but after doing so I can no longer run 4 RAM chips. 2 chips works fine, in any slot, and any 2 out of my 4 chips work together. But if I try and run 3 or 4 chips together I get a stop 4E BSOD at startup.

This problem only happens with the new graphics card, if I plug in my old card all 4 RAM chips work together again.

Any help would be great appreciated.

Thank you

Wow, right now I can't see how those can be related to each other. It would help us help you if you'd go into "My Profile" and list all your components.

Pehaps you do not have the power supply to run all of these together?
Can you please fill out your rig.

Okay so I made a rig but no idea how to post it in my signature like you guys so I'll put it here:

CPU: AMD FX8350 4.0GHz
MOBO: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4GB 1600MHz (x4)
GFX: Sparkle Caliber Nvidia GTX 680 2GB 1179MHz
PSU: Areocool Strike-x 800W (http://www.falconcomputers.co.uk/components/components/power-supplies/aerocool-strike-x-800w-modular-80-silver-psu-atx23-14cm-fan-single-rail.html)
Primary Hard Drive: OCZ Onyx 60GB SSD

If i use my old card (GT440) it boots with all 4 ram chips, if I switch to the new card I can only boot with 2 out of the 4 (As said before all chips work in all slots just not together) I get a stop 4E PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

The only thing that changes is the GFX Card so that is why I'm thinking that is the problem.

Off-brand PSU could be the problem???? My best guess.
Check to be sure you have all power plugs to both the vidcard and mobo used and reset them to ensure good connections.
With four sticks of memory most likely you'd need to set Command Rate to 2. Ensure correct memory voltage, speed, and latencies are set.

Thats a error for messed up ram, try running mem test on each stick. Just to narrow it down thumb.gif

I'm a noob when it comes to overclocking, the memory is all set to default in BIOS, The command rate is 2T the rest is gibberish to me. The PSU is considered a good brand apparently http://www.aerocool.us/ The connectors are all seated firmly, all connectors for the mobo are in place. This is really strange.

Nothing is overclocks atm, its all running at stock and just wont boot with 4 RAM sticks. I'm gonna run memtest on each stick individually as I ran it with all 4 before and see if that throws anything up.
