Corsair K65 Keyboard Sneak Peek?

Thread Starter

In this Custom PC Review video, they talk about all of the peripherals in the room but conveniently gloss over the keyboard that looks almost exactly like the K95 but without the macro keys. Apparently, according to the video, they weren't willing to talk about it. From what you can see in the video, that's most likely the K65 keyboard. The layout is almost exactly like the K95 so its probably got the Cherry Reds as well. If you look closely, it's plugged in and powered up because there's one white LED on it. That means, the K65 is almost certainly not a backlit keyboard. But hey, at least the K65 is completely black just like its bigger brother.

I actually want the older color scheme but full mechanical, it would look pretty good with a sensei on the desktop smile.gif

That does look like the k65 that they glossed over. It also looks like they had a k60 sitting next to the m65 mouse when they were showing it off. I didn't think the k60 had a full length wrist rest. but looks like the probable k65 does.

Aw Man, almost... I want a K65 with backlighting to pair with my M60.

Why do companies always bring it close to perfect then leave something out. Perhaps I have to wait for the K70?!?

I don't think back-lighting the K65 would hurt K95 sales. The K95 is for macro hungry MMO players.
I'd even buy the K95 if the Macro board was detachable.

In fact they could save money by making one base model K65 with back-lighting then engineering the macro board to attach and include it as the K95 kit. Then they could hit the right price point and move more keyboards to guys like me that consider the CM Storm instead of the K65 because of the back-lighting.

maybe, maybe not. however, if they make it backlit, it would be exactly the same as the k95 save for 18 g keys. That means, they would probably charge $130+ for the keyboard. You're forgetting that 90% the backlit cherry red switches are still there and the cost of those didn't change. Does it really make sense for them to push the exact same product with the only difference the G keys? If you want backlit, just live with the G keys. By removing backlighting on all of the switches, they'll probably be able to the price the K65 at a similar if not the same price as the old K60 keyboard. Somewhere around $100, which is much more competitive.
