[Kitguru] Sapphire 7870 XT (Tahiti LE) review - Page 2

The 7870 XT is the best price/performance card available. Most stores actually charge the same for the XT as the regular 7870. And it is a clocker! I am thinking about buying the Club3D version and slamming a DWOOD braket and Antec 620 onto it.

My HD7950 is pushing 1400mhz on core with water cooling. I plan on pushing this 7870XT to the wall as well. smile.gif

If the card is anything like the Sapphire HD7870 XT you shouldn't.

Just give it a try first.

But the 620 has the bracket on top of it correct? So it shouldn't have to use the shim.

Honestly i'm not sure, but I read at Dwood's site that you needed the copper shim with a 7900 card. http://triptcc.com/product/copper-shim It mentions that the 7900 cards needed the shim to work with the bracket and coolers. Since the XT is a Tahiti chip I wasn't sure if that applied to it as well. Depends on the PCB too i'm think. That's why I was asking.
