Swiftech MCP655 pump going bad?

Hey guys,

I recently started hearing some weird noise from my system that I hadn't heard before. After doing some investigation I found out that it's my pump. I have a variable speed version and at the '2.5' setting it makes a real loud whine. If I turn it down to 2 it's dead silent and 3 is louder than 2, but actually quieter than 2.5. I have included a video below to demonstrate what's happening. Do you all think this is a bad pump? I got the Special Edition from Performance PC's, so if it is, should I contact them? I'm not sure how long the warranty on this thing is.

Thanks!

In the video it starts at 2.5 which is where the noise is, goes down to 2, then back up to 2.5, then 3, then 4, then back down to 2.5.

How long has it run without making the wierd noise?

What is all in-line with the pump (models)?

Do you have any air left to bleed from your loop?

It's been running since July fine. I started noticing it about 2 weeks ago and it seemed to get worse as time went on.

I just have a Heatkiller GPU bock, Raystorm CPU block and UT-60 Rad in the loop. No air left to bleed that I know of.

The only thing I can think off the top of my head is if you have something building up inside there: you wouldn't know unless you took apart the pump to see though.

From the sound, my first thought was too much restriction in the loop, but your components shouldn't be an issue. I assume you use biocide so you wouldn't have an algae build-up somewhere?

Just a kill coil. I use clear tubing and I don't see any buildup. If there was something in the pump you would think it would be making that noise at all speeds.
