Custom Water - Insane temperatures - Page 5

I wouldn't know about my room temp, prolly around 20C.

But things seem to be finaly settling in place, I think the ****ty fans I got are the only "problem" left in my loop (They do like 30-35CFM max.), the water gets hotter and hotter slowly.

That is as hot as it got when the temps stopped rising, they started at ~65C when the water was room temperature, now I just need real fans to actually cool the water so I can keep the max load temps lower I think.
If it takes 30 minutes to rise from 65C to there then I reckon I just need some real fans, Gentle Typhoon 1850 I reckon, not too loud and decent performance.
And before Prime started the 8K tests the temps never went above 79C.

Or can someone recommend any decent and preferably cheap~ish 80-100CFM fans?

The current fans are just bloody awful (Coolink SWIF 1201)

Added one fan to the otherside so there are 4 fans, "one" Push/Pull on the radiator now.

30min runs:
- Before: 75/84/82/75
- After: 73/81/79/72

Yeah, the fans I got are definitely **** lol

So what would you say was the issue? Or was it just a combination of all those little things?

Ah OK, that makes sense. Yeah, gentle typhoons are pretty much the ticket on rads. Sure, they are a bit expensive, but they do last well.

Propably all the little things adding up, I mean I did pretty much everything there is to do to improve it lol, even lapped the CPU tongue.gif
But I suppose having bloody awful fans to begin with didn't exactly help.

Hey there fellow Finnish Overclocker wink.gif

Gentle Typhoon 1850rpm/AP-15? I use the same fans with my rads and they're so far the best fans I've used. Phobya rad is pretty thick so AP15 should make a difference.
Static pressure means more than cfm with thick rads i AFAIK?

I had very bad temp with my system recently but it was caused by my cpu block as it was completely stuffed with that wax/flux/ooze from my Black Ice GTX 240 I guess redface.gif

People still lap cpus? I did that with my E8500 3 years ago. 1c difference biggrin.gif

Just to let you know, you're looking at the wrong specification for fans. Cfm only represents airflow. The radiator rating is H20/mm. This is the static pressure the fan is able to apply.

But yeah, AP-15's are awesome fans. Noiseblockers, cougars, SP120s are the other top contenders. And if you don't value your hearing, get some Deltas

For your reference, a H20/mm rating of 1.5+ is decent for radiators.

The CPU was round as **** on edges and middle, it barely made any contact with the block tongue.gif
It didn't do much, I guess it wasn't as much as I thought but every little bit helps!

2.9 H20/mm for the GT1850, I guess that is ok~ish then.
Running Prime95 with 5xCrapCooler+Sonata3 Case Cooler right now, will post temps at 30min mark again, currently 11min and 69/74/75/68 max. (5GHz, 1.472V)

Are you sure your CPU block has water going in to the inlet and not the outlet?? Not all blocks can use either port.
