crossfire is garbage. waste of money. games always run better on one gpu. dual gpu setups will never be without problems. just won't happen and the performance increase compared to the cost is pure crap

What? I run crossfire almost from the release time of 7970. Crossfire ISNT carbage if you want to run 3x1 eyefinity. If you know what to do you can easily fix some problems. Now if you dont know if you dont have experience then dont try it if you are not an adventure guy

No it is not. It actually has its uses.
Try running latest games @ 7680x1440 with your single 7970 GHz.
Even at 1390 MHz as you claim it won't be able to cut it unless you put everything on Low.
7950/ 7970/ 680/ 670 all are great for single 1080p monitor but they can't play latest games at 60 fps constant or 120 fps constant.
Some people don't like 30 or 45 fps that's why CF & SLI are useful to them.

5760x1080 all ULTRA 60 fps butter smooth now! Playing at those high resolutions (7680x1440) is ridiculous. The current (and next gen) will never ever be powerful enough to run the latest games. Trifire will cost over $1000 and run like crap. You already know it. I could easily go to the store and buy 2 more 7970s but I don't cause it sucks.

My point is with the new drivers I can max all games out in eyefinity on ONE GPU!

Crossfire and Trifire is hell. To many driver issues. My single card never had issues. I always disabled Crossfire and slightly lowered settings and the game ran Way better. No vsync screen tear when flashs and explosions go off also reduce the game image to console levels. Looks absolutely terrible

I've had 7950 since christmas, so far it works great in everything I've ran except Hitman and FC3, I giuess because they are so new, but wasn't AMD working with both those dev's?, so there's no excuse for the crappy xfire performance with 12.11.

And skyrim has weird issues inside some places, can't say I ever noticed the same problem with 6950 CF, and it's possible I just went to a couple of caves and buildings with an issue

And yeah a single card still can't handle maxing 1080p in the likes of FC3, Hitman, and with plans to get a 30" 2560x1600 very soon drool.gif I can't wait to use their potential
