What grip do I have?

Hey everyone,
So i'm curious to know what grip I have since It'd be useful for the future in deciding on a new mouse.

From what I gather I sort of have a hybrid palm/fingertip grip..... if that's possible.......

I grip the mouse (Gigabyte M6980) in quite a laid back fashion, wresting my wrist/bottom of my hand on the edge of my computer desk.

My palm wrests about half on the mouse and half off and my fingers reach about 3/4 down the mouse buttons (in relatively straight positions).

I use my wrist to pivot and I don't use my arm.....

I use my thumb and little finger to grip and move the mouse

Here are two supposed finger-grip styles yet one looks like mine and the other less so:

http://img.gnd-tech.com/w/1/P1020378.jpg - not like mine since my fingers are straighter

http://assets.razerzone.com/peripherals-guide/mouse/images/fingertip-illus01.jpg - more like mine on the fingers but I have slightly more mouse on my palm (probably due to the way my mouse is designed).

What is this? And any suggestions for this kind of mouse grip?

I'm also not sure that if i were to buy another mouse, whether my grip would change or not....

Thanks!

That was exactly the same mouse I was looking at (G400). I have a wood veneer surface (a rather smooth one), and I hear some wood veneer surfaces don't track well with a g400. I'm not a fan of mouse mats to be honest.

Ive used a mouse with out a mouse pad for a while. and I have to say , look around , ask around and try yourself , mousepads help greatly.

it just takes getting used to.

Anyone know if this grip would work with the G9X?

It's just a lot of effort to drive to the nearest shop that might stock it, when i could just buy it.
Online is easier but if i didn't like it then returning is a hassle.

Sounds like the "Clawpaw" grip to me. There is a thread on this grip that you can find on this forum thumb.gif

Hmm, the finger tip one - I pivot my wrist yet my some of my palm does make contact with the mouse, just not all of it.

Still sort of curious. Is a G400 a decent mouse to roughly suit this style? tongue.gif Any other similarly priced mice that are better for this grip?

Cheers!

I use my G400 in the same way you discribed in your OP. Work's perfect for me. I use a mouse pad but every now and then end up using my hard wood desk. Its painted white and seems to track just fine with my mouse. Its an epic mouse! I have used many mice and there are few mice like it.
