Did I get shipped the wrong ram or do I have to edit something to make this work?

Here is a link of ram I bought for my x79 FTW system I just built

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00679QX0O/ref=oh_details_o01_s01_i03

And here is what I get when I run CPU id, it says that its 12800 running at 800 mhz???

The Sticker on the ram chip itself says pc17000 and the look of it matches the pic, is there something I have to edit in the bios or was I shipped the wrong ram?

Thanks for the help!
-Nate

12800 is 1600mhz RAM, dual-pumped, so the reading you're seeing is correct.

edit: need to learn to read. Isn't anything over 1600mhz *overclocked*? lol. I believe you have to OC pretty much any ram to get 2133 out of it, but I can't say for certain.

Looks like you need to set the correct profile in your BIOS. I have some DDR3 1600 that defaults to DDR3 1333 when first installed. There should be an XMP profile that your motherboard will recognize.

Part number in the SPD info is correct, so that is definitely the right memory.

Almost nothing is going to default to 2133, certainly not on an LGA-2011 setup, which only officially supports 1600.

You'll need to enable XMP or, much preferably, manually configure the speed and timings yourself.

The "SPD" tab in CPU-Z has nothing to do with the speed your memory is currently running - that is shown by the "Memory" tab.
In case you're wondering why you see PC3-12800 instead of PC3-17000 - it's because CPU-Z reads memory's highest JEDEC specification in "max bandwidth" field. JEDEC profiles are there to ensure compatibility, anything above DDR3-1600 has to use an XMP profile.

Ok well the memory tab also says 800 mhz

Ok tried xmp profile 1 and 2 can't get the memory to go above 800 mhz, so how do I need to set it?

seems that you have 2 issues here, well 1 really. im sure you need to choose the speed you want in your BIOS. Also, CPU-Z reports Frequency/2 so if you are at 2133 it will read 1066. also, you need to set your timings and voltages to what the memory is rated for
