[TPU] Corsair Introduces the Hydro Series H110 and H90 Liquid CPU Coolers - Page 13

I have been following this thread for a bit as well as the 900D one. Looking at a new x79 build in the near future. I know all about the up and downs related to the H100i and the link software but I thought a fix was suppose to be coming. I like those features (assuming they worked). So now I am a little confused on which I should get, the H100i or H110. It looks like the H110 will do a better job in cooling per George but people seem not to like the mounting system. Perhaps these are all preferences.

Is there strong argument with getting a H100i over the H110? Is the H100I EOL? It just sorta muddied the waters for me.

I know I am not as hardcore as many here but I was just about to start ordering and this threw a wrench into my cooling plans.

Thanks for your thoughts.

should fit the 500R okay then...can you confirm George?
Wouldn't it be right up against the motherboard in the 500R?

you guys, the h110 completely different in size. The h100i is meant for 240mm applications and just came out at the end of 2012. h110 is 280mm.

on that note i had no idea that a lot of people already have cases that can support 280mm. But this is OCN redface.gif

anyways, the h110 will beat the h100 temperatures by sheer surface area. As "bad" as the mounting is, the Kraken has already proven this.

I understand the different sizes. But assuming you could chose either I was not clear on the benefits of one over the other.

I've read all the messages and understand how they are different, just not sure if I should give up on corsair link or get something with slightly better cooling.

Corsair Link is not worth it. With the issues it's been causing and the QC issues with things like the LEDs on the H100i, it's not worth the hassle or potential hassle. Just get something better like the H220, Kraken X60, Water 2.0 Extreme, or the upcoming H110.

it'll be tight but if it really is 20mm fan spacing (seems like it as George comfirmed it fits in 500R) then it should be fine. Possibly not in the rad enclosure but right above the mobo (assuming EPS/VRM heatsink clearance is good)

This. CorsairLink in its current state is overrated. Plan to use 2 more fans with the CorsairLink? Expect unusable fan control. It plainly does not work well with fans other than the ones shipping with the unit.

Not even their own retail SP120 fans work with the h100i out of the box. They need to get their software aspect of the h100i squared away.

Checkout my youtube channel in my sig with my experience with the h100i.
