AMD DDMA question

Thread Starter
Hi, I have Sapphire HD7770 connected with monitor Dell U2311 with DisplayPort, hdmi to avr Onkyo 706 and DVI to Panasonic 50ST50.
When I try to connect plasma to hdmi and avr to mini dp > hdmi I get 3 screens but only one audio. In sound panel I have listed 6 AMD audio outputs but only one gets active, others are unplugged. Same happens when I connect avr to hdmi and plasma to mini dp > hdmi. Only one audio stream. If Onkyo is getting sound then Panasonic is not or vice versa. Is there a way to use Discrete Digital Multi-Point Audio and have 2 outputs from HD7770? One to avr and other to plasma? Thx...

No, DDMA does not function like that. The Radeon HD 7000 supports one audio endpoint at a time if the speakers you're attempting to connect to aren't built directly into the display and/or connected directly to a 1/8" jack on that display.

Ok, but plasma has built in speakers and avr also has its speaker outputs. What is different in this case?

Because the AVR is not in and of itself a display, and does not offer "GTC" or "global timecode" functionality that DDMA requires to synchronize the audio with the display.

Ok, thx... friend of mine also has similar setup but with nvidia 660ti and it offers him multiple audio outs. He get audio even from dvi to hdmi on plasma and through hdmi to avr. I just hoped that I could get that with DDMA.

Is there a way to activate 2 different audio outs from HD7770? If there are 6 AMD audio outs listed in sound panel how come that it can not see even 2 devices with hdmi input?
I have 2 plasma tv and connected them to hdmi out from gpu and mini dp > hdmi, monitor is still through dp port. Even like this I get only one audio out, other 5 are unplugged.

did you ever figure out the solution? I've got the same problem. 24" Asus monitor with built in speakers running from mini-dp thru active converter to hdmi & samsung 24" hdtv connected through hdmi. Sound shows all monitors but I'm only able to output 1 at a time. This is really frustrating because I'm not a gamer & the only reason I bought the HIS 7700 card was for the ddma. I'm running and AMD A8 apu with built in graphics but disabling them in control panel makes no difference
