3770k build. I must choose in a day! (my brother is in the US by a Microcenter!)

Hi guys,

I’m interested in upgrading my computer because of an opportunity that stands in front of me (actually, in front of my brother).
I live in Canada, so the best I can get a 3770k is for $330. However the US Microcenter has it for $230! My brother is at Disney Land for the next 3 days in California, which seems to be a 15 minute cab ride away from Microcenter! So I have 2 days to decide on this.

I do play games on my PC like TF2, Skyrim and Minecraft on medium-high settings at 1440p (not very high). I never look at the FPS. It just looks fine to me.
I do like to live stream my PS3 games on twitch.tv with my capture card though. So an i7 would REALLY help with hyper threading on the x264 video encoding. That’s my main draw towards this new chip! My i5 750 really holds me back I think.

What would be a decent board for overclocking a 3770k and hooking up another 2 SSDs (3 total + 2HDDs)? I was eyeing the Maximus V Formula, but that’s pretty expensive. Does it hold a strong advantage? I will also pick up a corsair H100 for sufficient Ivybridge cooling.

Aside from that, does the rest of my hardware look okay?

***Ignore the video card for now please lol. I know its old, but until I get into a PC game I get lag in, I won’t replace it. The upgrade will feel more amazing then!

My current build is as follows:
i5 750 + Hyper 212+ CPU cooler
Asus P7P55D-E PRO
4gb (2x2) G.Skill RipJaws Z PC12800
8gb (2x4) G.Skill Ripjaws X PC12800  So I’m running 12gb total

Sapphire 5770
Corsair TX550
128gb Crucial M4
1Tb WD Caviar Black
640gb WD Caviar Black
HAF932 full tower
Achieva Shimian 27” 1440p (primary)
Asus VE258Q 25.5” 1080p
AverMedia Live Gamer HD

Thanks for your time!

for the water cooler go with the h100i it is slightly better at cooling and more flexible than the h100 plus its around the same price

There's really no reason to spend more than something in the $150 for a motherboard if you are just doing air/water cooling. Something like the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H is going to support any overclock you'd be able to get under those conditions. Unless you really need the connectivity a more expensive board provides, don't spend that much on the motherboard - there is no performance difference.
